BJJ + Travel Bug = BJJBug.net
I've been studying various styles of martial arts for the past 10+ years. These include: Kajukenbo, Shotokan, Shorin Ryu, Judo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Currently, I practice and teach Shorin Ryu Karate on a weekly basis alongside with my training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Currently, I hold the rank of Black Belt in Shorin-ryu, Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, and Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
BJJBug.net was created to share my personal experience and journey in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) along with my love for travel. The name of the blog comes from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu's abbreviation "BJJ" along with the common phrase for wanderlust, "Travel Bug". I find that when traveling and visiting other academies, I always end up meeting amazing people. Visiting other countries is even more intriguing since I get to experience new cultures and customs. My goal is to train in all 50 states and at least 30 different countries before opening up my academy.
I currently reside in Los Angeles, CA. I work full-time as a marketing/advertising professional for a large advertising agency. When I'm free, you can find me at the beach, hiking, gym, or in some other state or country. I teach martial arts classes in Torrance, CA and I'm looking to open my own academy in Southern California in the near future. My future academy will be offering classes for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Shorin-ryu Karate, Weapons Training, and Yoga.
